The acclaimed Detroit house producer had been very candid about his health over the past few weeks, using various social media channels to keep fans informed. After canceling his European tour, he wrote an entry on his MySpace blog explaining his trials in and out of the hospital. Earlier this week, he posted a video on his homepage discussing his official diagnosis. All the while, he let out a steady stream of Twitter messages and Facebook updates, the last of which read “Finished the bone marrow biopsy. Ouch! Now I’m preparing for the lymph node removal. Surgery, here I come!” The first notice of his death came earlier today when his friend and like-minded artist Pirahnahead wrote on his Facebook page “Just lost one of his best friends, Aaron-Carl, and my arms are far too short to box with GOD. One of the best Human beings in the WORLD is gone. I have no words. Music is Silence.”

the dynamic duo of undah-dub and super voice grier are at it again! this time it’s a funky junky called “slinky secrets”. imagine that beautiful piece in the club that you know has got the goods. but smoke, mirrors and beauty keep their dirty side at bay just to save face…this is the song to rebel on those types! ”…the dirty ones you think are, too hot and moist and pinky for slinky secrets!” that should say it all. i guess it’s literally asking those tricks to unlock that vault and let us in, cuz we might have to take it by force. undah-dub pops off one of his funkiest and quirkiest numbers yet, with a steller electro type remix that completely seals the power of this song in a new compact form. fit for radio or clubs, this vocal driven gem will drive everyone crazy. CJ Burken ducks his head out of the lab to serve us, “the people remixes”. the vocal mix is a deep and abstract journey into radio space. this is a vintage journey from the master himself, you do not want to miss. And for the boys in the big room, you might want to check out Noxxers twisted version. he beefs up the soundtrack with a pumpin drum kick, crazy bass line and a lot of moaning….perfect for that 3 a.m. light show. trust with any of these mixes there will be no wrong turns here tonight. gets to goin!

Strongbox is the first in a series of upcoming compilations solely dedicated to showcase the timeless production quality and bring well-deserved attention to our illustrious and varied catalog. Right of the bat, Volume I delivers 10 of our early favorites – recombined and sequenced in a brand new way that lets each track stand on its own. With the time-honored habit of releasing several mixes for one track, sometimes one track gets lost in the shuffle or does not to get shine when listed with other remixes..

In that vein, Strongbox Vol I starts right off with our signature deep-tech and funk, sending the listening on a journey of label re-discovery that distinctively highlights our strengths: Harlem Tech. Supreme funky beats from Undah-Dub, Javas, Grier, CJ Burken, Fuze, Mista A and Keith Just – all these artists have contributed one newly remastered track/mix to this compilation. Can’t miss a beat… Their choke-hold is legendary….

1. the undah-dub presents harlem hustler – color of twist

As of right now we have an exclusive pre-release of The Undah-Dub’s latest LP for Decibel NYC, “No Vacancy” 18 tracks of tech bliss and an assortment of mania for your aural pleasure.
A serious collection of mixed beatdowns, double entendres and a world of substance. The kids won’t be able to help themselves when the assorted tech grooves move them frantically from a 2 step to full on head spinning dance floor takeover. Atop of these driving grooves come some great songs with really phat hooks. Stand out vocals reign supreme “Slinky Secrets” featuring long time friend Grier, and “Big Girl Pill” featuring jazz vocalist, La Veda.

You have to keep listening repeatedly because it’s like water, you just can’t get enough of a natural element. The journey continues with kitschy and vocal singles like “We Don’t Do Drive-byes” and “Walk All Night” featuring Breeze and the husky sex and summer anthem “like sex” featuring newcomer Digable7.

So irresistible that the neighbors might ask you to quit repeating it, or turn it up louder.
In traditional Undah-dub fashion he couldn’t forget his 4 to the floor fly kids, so he whipped up some tech house tracks that are not too be f*cked with. Uber grooves like “Feel Me“, “Play More, Say Less“, “Courtesan Couture” and the funky first single “Upgrade” are some sneaky, DJ friendly bombs made especially for the dance floor and not too be missed.

Sealed tight with a number of spoken word interludes, written and performed by the poet Blue, this 18 track conglomerate is nothing short of fabulous. Immerse yourself in the the love, the shade, the humor and seriousness, the jaw dropping, foot stomping, hand clapping and body jacking changes that the last year and a half has been presented to you, raw and unadulterated. Enter the beat hotel, but beware, everyone wants to be here, but right now these halls have “No Vacancy”. The kids have brought their dancing gear and are refusing too leave.
worldwide release date is March 11, 2009

Mad Cows – Finish What You StartedMad Cows – Finish What You Started [decny036]
Keep an ear out for the latest Mad Cow release “finish what you started”. Swooping in to save the new years, Mad Cows (undah-dub and breeze) return with their annual dose of madness. Coming in off the heels of it’s successor “Spies”, “finish what you started” is showing a new minimal acid side to this sordid duo. Still with the big room madness, but another face that you haven’t gotten to see. But don’t worry, we didn’t forget you ballroom drum headz. We gave the drama too our in-house crew. From big man on top, Noxxer, he serves his serious Portugal tech tech rendition and leaves no stone unturned. Super Agent 33 and IVI-R bang it out on the drum and fx circuit, keeping the stomp factor alive. And our resident electro king, Nathan Heinze returns for a brilliant version just to shake the taste buds down. Every morsel is a sweet pill waiting to be taken over and over, just when you think you are done, you find more to play with, but we always “Finish What We Started”!

Also out right now is DBell – double trouble ep [decny039]
Danny Bellens give us something a little different to present to your audio collection. A true progressive trio in classic format.

Big drums and haunted melodys are ready to bring your dancefloors to a collective thrust. Feel the dark synthy overtones of “double trouble” it sets the tone for the trilogy and gets your feet started, lovely. Working our way to track 2, the standout thrasher “G.A.A.N.”, won’t let you go.

You can try to stop but the chokehold is a death grip. For a supreme finisher, feast on the almost trancelike monster “The Fullmoonlight” it grips just like the title suggests, turns you from man and changes you too beast. Something new for our audience, hope you enjoy listening and playing as much as we enjoy giving!

DJ Noxxer – minimal solutions 4 maximum problems [decny033]
Finally it’s here. The first Ep for our guy Friday, DJ Noxxer. He whips up a stellar Tech House number to cap off the Year that was Minimal Solutions 4 Maximum Problems. 2 series trip-tastic tracks.

Starting with the super lush and downright grooving “Tropikimal” and it’s dirtier and just as funky counterpart “Tram”. Inspired by some world traveling and new sights, this Portugal native tells the story of his artistic growth and his standout style, this is why he will be a force to be reckoned with come future. Sink your teeth into Noxxer beginnings…

just in time for the WMC 09

The LAB 152 SESSIONS proudly present Decibel NYC artist and Reality Here Records owner, Vladimir Neuymin, in command of the decks. He is serving his fiercest selections of intricacies for an hour. Just listen to our podcast (right in the sidebar of this blog) for session #16 or subscribe to the feed (lab 152 sessions)

Vladimir Neuymin was born in Chelyabinsk (Russia) in 1983. At the age of 16 years he found serious interest in electronic music. He started to write at about the same age. In 2000, in club “City”, he met with Michael Mikhajlov (Solar 24) .They made their own project called “7+8 Project”. Working in his special tasty style he and Solar 24 got on the collection of the best electronic musicians of Russia with a track called “What” (IQ music label, Russia).

Soon they started doing remix work for Universal Music Russia. In 2005 they signed two releases on Pure Substance Records. Now, Vladimir actively cooperates with talented Russian producer Nikolay Anisimov (DJ Reflector). Together they released some magnificent tracks (Fuzz U, Rain and Rainbow). At the end of 2006 Vladimir returned to the musical scene. Now he keeps up to date applying the newest technologies in the creation of his tracks. His new tunes are full of energy with the strongest basses, tribal lines and unusual FX-s. Vladimir is full of optimism, now he opens his new digital label called Reality Here which sets as the purpose to show potential of the Russian electronic musicians.
