undah-dub - no vacancyAs of right now we have an exclusive pre-release of The Undah-Dub’s latest LP for Decibel NYC, “No Vacancy” 18 tracks of tech bliss and an assortment of mania for your aural pleasure.
A serious collection of mixed beatdowns, double entendres and a world of substance. The kids won’t be able to help themselves when the assorted tech grooves move them frantically from a 2 step to full on head spinning dance floor takeover. Atop of these driving grooves come some great songs with really phat hooks. Stand out vocals reign supreme “Slinky Secrets” featuring long time friend Grier, and “Big Girl Pill” featuring jazz vocalist, La Veda.

You have to keep listening repeatedly because it’s like water, you just can’t get enough of a natural element. The journey continues with kitschy and vocal singles like “We Don’t Do Drive-byes” and “Walk All Night” featuring Breeze and the husky sex and summer anthem “like sex” featuring newcomer Digable7.

So irresistible that the neighbors might ask you to quit repeating it, or turn it up louder.
In traditional Undah-dub fashion he couldn’t forget his 4 to the floor fly kids, so he whipped up some tech house tracks that are not too be f*cked with. Uber grooves like “Feel Me“, “Play More, Say Less“, “Courtesan Couture” and the funky first single “Upgrade” are some sneaky, DJ friendly bombs made especially for the dance floor and not too be missed.

Sealed tight with a number of spoken word interludes, written and performed by the poet Blue, this 18 track conglomerate is nothing short of fabulous. Immerse yourself in the the love, the shade, the humor and seriousness, the jaw dropping, foot stomping, hand clapping and body jacking changes that the last year and a half has been presented to you, raw and unadulterated. Enter the beat hotel, but beware, everyone wants to be here, but right now these halls have “No Vacancy”. The kids have brought their dancing gear and are refusing too leave.
worldwide release date is March 11, 2009

Mad Cows – Finish What You StartedMad Cows – Finish What You Started [decny036]
Keep an ear out for the latest Mad Cow release “finish what you started”. Swooping in to save the new years, Mad Cows (undah-dub and breeze) return with their annual dose of madness. Coming in off the heels of it’s successor “Spies”, “finish what you started” is showing a new minimal acid side to this sordid duo. Still with the big room madness, but another face that you haven’t gotten to see. But don’t worry, we didn’t forget you ballroom drum headz. We gave the drama too our in-house crew. From big man on top, Noxxer, he serves his serious Portugal tech tech rendition and leaves no stone unturned. Super Agent 33 and IVI-R bang it out on the drum and fx circuit, keeping the stomp factor alive. And our resident electro king, Nathan Heinze returns for a brilliant version just to shake the taste buds down. Every morsel is a sweet pill waiting to be taken over and over, just when you think you are done, you find more to play with, but we always “Finish What We Started”!

dbell - double trouble epAlso out right now is DBell – double trouble ep [decny039]
Danny Bellens give us something a little different to present to your audio collection. A true progressive trio in classic format.

Big drums and haunted melodys are ready to bring your dancefloors to a collective thrust. Feel the dark synthy overtones of “double trouble” it sets the tone for the trilogy and gets your feet started, lovely. Working our way to track 2, the standout thrasher “G.A.A.N.”, won’t let you go.

You can try to stop but the chokehold is a death grip. For a supreme finisher, feast on the almost trancelike monster “The Fullmoonlight” it grips just like the title suggests, turns you from man and changes you too beast. Something new for our audience, hope you enjoy listening and playing as much as we enjoy giving!

dj noxxer - minimal solutions 4 maximum problemsDJ Noxxer – minimal solutions 4 maximum problems [decny033]

Starting with the super lush and downright grooving “Tropikimal” and it’s dirtier and just as funky counterpart “Tram”. Inspired by some world traveling and new sights, this Portugal native tells the story of his artistic growth and his standout style, this is why he will be a force to be reckoned with come future. Sink your teeth into Noxxer beginnings…

the sounds of portugal… Friday, May 16th, 2008

DJ Noxxer (Portugal)
DJ Noxxer is a young Portuguese DJ / Producer that combines a whole world of sounds and emotions in his work. Mixing first came in late 2004, but his true love and passion were yet to be fulfilled. As an Iberican DJ, his main style is Tribal and Hard House but he is not afraid to venture into Electro-House and Funky grooves. His distinct style landed him gigs quickly around the city and now DJ Noxxer can be seen performing all around his native country with some other Portuguese artists that he admires.
His production has started to garner him some notice and buzz. Noxxer will release before the end of 2007 a mix compilation and expect some orinigal productions and mixes to soon follow. “The most important thing is doing what I love to do with a little bit of style”… And that’s exactly his main idea for crafting his productions, combining different styles and baking some musical gem that “people won’t forget the next time they come out to the club”!
DJ Noxxer is also involved with a project called Fuckin DJ’s, with DJ Miguel S, where they perform live. This project is special for both members and their production work is being carefully studied in order to fill the hopes that so many friends put on them!

1 out of 3 are SPIES… Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

as we start the month of june, our new BI (that’s business intelligence) backend software is reaching it’s final stage of implementation. what that means is that we are now able to track in REAL TIME the performance of our each of our releases. which is selling the best per quarter, for the year… down to the individual mix!

what all this beefed up web 2.0 backend stuff means in the long run is a better LIVE view that our people can use to know which release does best, needs promotion, where a particular artist does best, down to the region… all this mombo jumbo means that we want to know who does what and how and where so that we can always, at an instant, refocus or re-distribute our energies to a more effective and accurate marketing.

DECNY020 - Mad Cows - Spiesso, who is doing how so far? as of june 1st, Mad Cows’ SPIES has captured the number ONE spot with more then 30% of downloads worldwide since january 1st, 2007, with Alex Celler‘s remix out-pacing the others 2 to 1!

if you don’t know what all this buzz is about, get edumentated in the school of SPIES. visit our web site for more details!

Time to clean those pipes… Monday, May 21st, 2007

Spies - sectionalLet’s start with numbers and rankings: Mad CowsSPIES, released at the beginning of May 2007, is on track to surpass all our previous sales numbers of any release to date.

Alex Celler‘s mix is by far the most in demand, specially for the groovy house crowd.

After a timid start, The Undah-Dub‘s RISE UP is slowly gaining traction and we are seeing the numbers improve weekly. If you like the mixes, pass the information on to your fellow DJs and artists so that they can get acquainted with our catalog.

DECNY022 - Mental Health HotlineOnto what’s coming soon: the label office has been filled with the maniacal, twisted, dirty and neurotic sounds of the remixes for Mista A‘s MENTAL HEALTH HOTLINE. Breeze surprised us all a week ago by dropping, unexpectedly, his in-progress remix of that track: sheer pandemonium! “Timmy, I told you about playing with those mad cows!” Mista A‘s original is such an easily digestable number, while his breaks remix is chunky, rolling and thundering: “Shut Up and Take It”.

DECNY023 - StrutNot to forget STRUT by Don Davenport. Already, Keith Just, Breeze and Orduña – as of this date anyway – have shown their hands by demo-ing their mixes for the label staff.

The only hold-out is Lou Peoples who is said to be working on his mix in hiding. The EP will not go out without his mix! That’s the word on the streets.

Spies and Infrared… Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Breeze, one-half of the Mad Cows production group, took some time this past Saturday to schedule and perform in front of a live audience, their upcoming single “SPIES“. Here are his feedback and musings on the show:

I spied on a world that’s sadly disappearing. The nightlife was once a place where you could go and be a part of something creative. You were stimulated with all the arts, from music to dance to visuals…
Well, the Aries Ball this past weekend was like going back to Church – as we used to refer to it. Saturday night – Sunday morning was our Church. We celebrated music and dance; The DJs were both feirce; they brought the beats and the kids came for it… The children were in full force and a many a pretty face showed up all thoughout the night.
That night, we performed our song “Spies” live and even though we had a problem with the sound, the performance was so much fun. It was great to see the kids join in on the runway; we got great footage and we’re preparing the video. The space was a beautiful loft with mirrors and wooden floors, It was very old school meets new school.
Other than the Cops shutting the party down at 9 am (it was to go on until noon or later). Everything was the way it used to be with the exception that you couldn’t smoke; well some of us couldn’t, but that underground feeling is always the element that makes a party. We’re all looking foward to new projects and we hope you enjoy what we’re bringing so far in our music.
The other mixes for Mad Cows’ SPIES and the video will be released on Beatport and YouTube. Thanks for the love and as always …Feel the Breeze.

Here is a short clip from the ton of raw footage shot that night. There were costumes, there were choreographies, there were lots of walking…

In tandem with the huge buzz they are currently enjoying with the recent release of “Welcome To No York” (and the remixes) on Fatal Music (see previous post), Mad Cows seems to be closer and closer to taking the plunge and producing their first music video. The interest is there. The talent is all around. The reception is overwhelming so far. A music video shouldn’t be too far behind.

Mad Cows breaks out Hot Tuesday, April 17th, 2007
